The Race Of Life

I sentence you to death, to run the race of life until completion, until you reach the finish line and enter the grave. You are currently in the race, you are in the arena, you are battling against time itself moving closer to your demise. The course is laid out in front of you, the map complete, the path marked before you. Many start the race, but they lose their way. Many run the course, but few live for the destination. Many have strived to win, but aimlessly go in the wrong directions. The difference between losing and winning in this race is found in the nature of one's mind, in the motivation behind their integrity, in the quiet spaces of their thoughts, in the moments no one sees them. Many people choose the easy road in life, but that path will only lead to desolation and destruction. But for those who endure beyond the beaten trail and choose the harder path of life, it will always lead to the most beautiful destination. Because there is no finish line in life, there is always a taller mountain to climb. Victory is attained through the courageous souls that die to themselves everyday in hopes of winning the prize. For many live to die, but few die to live. Many give up and are completely unaware of their potential because it is wrapped in a gift of pain, hard work, and suffering. Your life sentence is going to be filled with pain, but life is not about avoiding pain, but finding something you love beyond yourself worth being in pain for, worth working hard for and worth suffering for. The pain you have gone through and continue to endure is not punishment, it is preparation for your purpose to advance the kingdom of God and finish the race.
